People digging dirtShovels are officially in the ground, marking the start of New Hampshire’s long-awaited secure psychiatric unit forensic hospital. The $41.9 million project will bring the new 24-bed secure hospital adjacent to the New Hampshire Hospital in Concord, providing a facility to treat mental illness in forensic patients, including those who are civilly committed.

The 41,000-square-foot facility will provide a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients. Constructed with separate wings for male and female residents, the hospital will include treatment spaces such as a medical treatment suite, recreational therapy areas, a vocational kitchen, group meeting rooms, a library/chapel, seclusion rooms, dining space and visitation rooms. Exterior yards will provide space for patient exercise and exposure to the outdoors.

Construction is underway with completion scheduled for the summer of 2025.

With the 2021-2022 hockey season wrapped up, the PC team is mobilized and underway on the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore Center Arena renovation and repairs. The project includes replacement of the ice floor assembly and all associated refrigeration and heating systems, new safer dasher boards and modifications to the existing A/V system. The work also involves reducing the ice rink playing surface width by 10 feet while maintaining spectator sight lines and further enhancing the fan experience.

Temporary protection is erected, and demolition of the existing ice rink slab is underway. Stay tuned as work continues on this exciting project for UNH athletes, students and fans!

UNH The sound of construction activities humming around the University of New Hampshire campus is quickly becoming a faint memory. This week, the din of construction will be replaced by the roar of cheering Wildcats fans as the University’s football team christens the new stadium with a game against Holy Cross. In anticipation of the big day, hundreds of UNH fans flocked to Wildcat Stadium on August 25 for a soft opening and to take in the sights during an intra-squad football scrimmage.

The new state-of-the-art NCAA Division I stadium will transform how fans experience athletic events at UNH for years to come. In addition to nearly doubling the school’s stadium capacity, the facility features over 11,500 spectator seats, high-powered lights to illuminate night games, contemporary broadcast and Wi-Fi capability, concessions facilities, social and gathering areas, a fully-equipped press box and a special student section. In addition to UNH’s nationally ranked football team, the stadium will benefit many other athletic programs including lacrosse, soccer, and track and field.

PC Construction began work on this $25 million design-build project in May 2015 with partners Lavallee Brensinger and Populous. With the final touches wrapping up, we are excited to watch as students, fans and the community enjoy all the amenities the new Wildcat Stadium offers.
